Suburban Pediatrics is one of the longest established pediatric practices serving northwest Chicagoland. Founded by Dr. AA Sattler and Dr. John Cywinski in 1966, we provide comprehensive pediatric medicine with an emphasis on personalized care. Our physicians are all board certified members of the American Academy of Pediatrics. We care for children and adolescents from birth to twenty-one years old and have standard weekday and Saturday office hours. After hours phone calls for urgent concerns are answered by one of the doctors. We are available for prenatal consultations by appointment.
All five of our doctors are board-certified, faculty members at Advocate Lutheran General and Fellows of the American Academy of Pediatrics. All physicians participate in continuing medical education and are up to date in the latest advances in pediatric care.
We understand that your schedule can be busy, so Suburban Pediatrics LTD offers flexible office hours to accommodate your needs. Our standard hours include weekdays and Saturday appointments. We also provide after-hours phone consultations for urgent concerns to ensure that you have access to support when you need it most.
In addition to standard weekday hours, we offer same-day visits for sick children and weekday evening hours for well and sick children. Of course, during the hours that we are closed, we welcome phone calls if you have an urgent concern.
Our service to your family continues for many years as we encourage our patients to grow in their relationship with their pediatrician throughout their formative years. We are pleased to be one of the few practices that encourages our patients to continue to call our office their medical home from birth to twenty-one years of age.
The advantage of being an independent community-based practice is that we not only offer the best care to our patients but we have the freedom to refer our patients to the best pediatric dentists, therapists and other subspecialists, rather than being required to refer within a single corporate entity. This equals unmatched care for our patients and their families.
We are very proud to have cared for multiple generations of many of our patient families. All of our doctors are attending physicians at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital.
We are a Patient-Centered Medical Home. As primary care that combines access, teamwork and technology to deliver quality care and improve health
In practice, this means we have a team approach to providing medical care for children. By coming to our practice for well visits and by speaking to our team over the phone regarding important issues, the providers will know your children’s health histories, concerns and needs. In addition, providers can understand children’s strengths, develop a care plan with parents and children when needed and respect and honor every family’s culture and traditions. Children who come to the practice are able to make connections with our providers as they grow, making them feel more comfortable sharing.

We are dedicated to improving the health, safety, and quality of life of children and families. Your child is our priority even for routine physicals and minor illnesses.
We do not rely on mid-level practitioners in our offices or to answer overnight calls. All of our pediatricians are board certified medical doctors.. The doctors are available after hours when you need them . This assures that our patients receive top-notch care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Premier care for your child is only realized by establishing a one-on-one relationship with your primary physician for routine check-ups and sick visits. The most gratifying aspect of our work is building trusting relationships with families and enjoying the growth of their children from birth through the college years.

The focus of pediatrics is to maintain a child’s health by preventing illness and accidents whenever possible. We strive to achieve this by supporting a healthy lifestyle, which includes giving parenting advice, nutrition recommendations, promoting physical activity, recommending safety measures, and administering childhood immunizations.
Vaccines are the most effective tool to continue to keep your child and our community safe from vaccine-preventable illness. Vaccines save countless lives every year! The doctors at Suburban Pediatrics adhere to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Recommended Child and Adolescent Immunization Schedule. We strongly encourage all of the AAP recommended vaccines.
If your family is unable to remain up to date on the school-required vaccines, you will need to find another healthcare provider.

When your child does become ill, we believe you should be able to see your doctor. That is why we are open six days a week including Saturday, with evening hours Monday through Thursday.
Our Nurse Triage line is a wonderful resource to help guide you through the many questions you may have between visits. They are available daily from 8:30am - 5:00pm.
