We believe that early detection of developmental delays & behavioral problems is crucial to better outcomes for children. We use a developmental screening tool called the Ages & Stages Questionnaire (ASQ-3). It allows us to follow your child’s development more closely and provide early intervention should it be needed.
Because your child's first years of life are so important, we want to help you provide the best start for your child. You've been invited to participate in the Ages & Stages Questionnaires, Third Edition (ASQ-3), to help you keep track of your child's development.
We ask that the questionnaire be completed at the 9-, 12-, 18-, 24-, 30- and 36-month periods. You will be asked to answer questions about some things your child can and cannot do. The questionnaire includes questions about your child's communication, gross motor, fine motor, problem solving, and personal social skills.
If you are unable to print from home, Suburban Pediatrics can print and mail/fax you the forms to complete. There will also be copies available in the office for you to complete before you go into a room. Please arrive 15 minutes early for your appointment if you will be completing at the office.
This questionnaire must be completed before your child’s appointment.

Only a qualified medical professional can diagnose your child with autism. However, there are screening tools you can use at home to better understand if your child shows signs of autism. Along with well-child visits with your child’s pediatrician, these autism screening tools are designed to help you determine if a formal autism evaluation is needed.
Recommended for parents of children in the age range of 16 – 30 months, the Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers (M-CHAT) consists of 20 yes/no questions to help parents determine if a formal autism evaluation is needed for their child.
The results will let you know if a further evaluation may be needed. Your doctor will discuss the results of the screener and address any concerns that you may.
We pierce first holes in ear lobes. We cannot pierce cartilage.
Unfortunately, as ear piercing is considered a cosmetic procedure, it is not covered by insurance. The cost to pierce ears is $100 and includes both the cost of the visit and the earrings.
Payment is due at the time of service.
We pierce ears for children aged 6 months and older.
Between 10 months and 5 years it may be difficult for your child to control his or her movements during the procedure. It may also be difficult for her/him to sit still enough to participate in after care or prevent excess touching of the new piercing which can lead to infection.
We use the CorenPS earpiercer painlessly pierces earlobes, inserting a hypoallergenic ear stud quickly and safely.
The metal used in the CorenPS Earpiecer earring is a surgical steel, which is then either plated in gold or left as steel. Surgical steel is considered to be hypoallergenic, while even though is does contain nickel, it is bonded within the metal in a way that it is not reactive to the skin.
We cannot use earrings brought from home.
Ear piercing is a minor surgical procedure that comes with risk of infection, scarring or allergic reaction.
You will be asked to sign a consent form on the day of the piercing.
We recommend keeping the earrings clean and in place for 6 weeks before changing out for another hypoallergenic post-style earring. You will receive a more detailed sheet about after care at the appointment.
